Week 4 "2PC Top-10" NFL Power Rankings
Another week of NFL games, another week of upsets. The latest edition of the 2PC Top-10 features a shakeup in the Top-3.
We’re nearly a quarter of the way through the NFL season. There’s been electric games so far each week, with this past slate of games giving two great football games between top-10 teams in the Eagles’ win over the Rams and the Lions’ MNF victory over the Ravens.
Because of one upset in particular, we have a shakeup in the top-3.
1. Philadelphia Eagles (Last Week: 3)
Last Result: Beat Rams, 33-26
The Eagles have reclaimed the number one spot in our rankings after a tenacious comeback victory over the Los Angeles Rams in the early afternoon window on Sunday. AJ Brown looks to be back at full strength, and Jalen Hurts looked much better as a passer than in the previous two weeks.
The Eagles won on a blocked kick (which they then returned for a touchdown), but it was an awfully close game that once saw the Eagles down 26-7 in the third quarter.
2. Buffalo Bills (Last Week: 2)
Last Result: Beat Dolphins, 31-21
The Buffalo Bills walked into Thursday Night Football and handled business against the lowly Dolphins. It was a game that was a little bit closer than what Josh Allen & co. were probably hoping, but still a favorable result.
The Buffalo Bills have a realistic pathway to remaining undefeated until November, with their upcoming schedule featuring the Saints, Patriots, and Panthers.
3. Green Bay Packers (Last Week: 1)
Last Result: Lost to Browns, 13-10
The Green Bay Packers switched spots with the Philadelphia Eagles in our rankings after a disappointing weekend against the Cleveland Browns. The Packers were the better team (as expected), but the Browns scored 13 points in the final four minutes of play to seal a win - in part due to an untimely Jordan Love interception.
That pick, combined with a blocked Packers field goal with less than 30 seconds left, allowed the Browns to drive the 16 yards needed to set up their own game-winning field goal.
4. Detroit Lions (Last Week: 6)
Last Result: Beat Ravens, 38-30
The Detroit Lions have two very convincing wins early this season after losing to the Packers in Week One. All concerns about their play-calling and brand new coordinators (John Morton and Kelvin Sheppard) have been seemingly silenced.
Between the combination of skill players that Detroit has, along with a much more sophisticated defensive infrastructure than what was on display last year, the Lions should be able to stand toe to toe against any team in the NFL.
5. Los Angeles Chargers (Last Week: 5)
Last Result: Beat Broncos, 23-20
Justin Herbert is continuing his case for the early-season NFL MVP. He’s been electric and almost single-handedly won the game for LA on the final touchdown of the game on Sunday against Denver. The current variant of this Chargers offense has been a much-needed change of pace from the ground-and-pound style that OC Greg Roman is traditionally known for.
The Chargers have started the season off with three wins, each against divisional opponents. Their next game comes against the 0-3 Giants, who are starting rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart.
6. Baltimore Ravens (Last Week: 4)
Last Result: Lost to Lions, 38-30
The Ravens have had a very disappointing start to their year, albeit the losses have come against the Buffalo Bills (#2) and Detroit Lions (#4) by a combined nine points. Still, starting 1-2 wasn’t the goal - and the schedule won’t get any easier from here. The Ravens upcoming schedule features a game in Kansas City next week, followed by home contests against the Texans and Rams.
Still, even with the poor start, Lamar Jackson has done Lamar Jackson things - but there is a level of concern with the trench play (on both sides of the ball) that cannot go unnoticed.
7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Last Week: 8)
Last Result: Beat Jets, 29-27
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 3-0 with wins against the Falcons, Texans, and Jets. Those teams, to date, have a single combined win. Still, Tampa Bay has had some really high moments - particularly offensive rookie of the year candidate Emeka Egbuka.
Tampa will have their biggest test so far this season against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
8. Indianapolis Colts (Last Week: NR)
Last Result: Beat Titans, 41-20
Every time I think the Colts will lose, they end up winning - and doing so in convincing fashion. Indianapolis was on the cusp of these rankings last week, but a dominant win over the Tennessee Titans pulled them above some pretty notable teams in the rankings.
Quite frankly, the Colts have looked like the best team in football through three weeks, and Jonathan Taylor looks like an MVP Candidate.
9. Kansas City Chiefs (Last Week: 9)
Last Result: Beat Giants, 22-9
The Kansas City Chiefs are at a crossroads - one that seems to be the most difficult they’ve faced in quite some time. There are very clear flaws in the offensive infrastructure, resulting in Patrick Mahomes essentially having to turn superhuman every game.
Kansas City has yet to have a 50-yard rusher not named Patrick Mahomes this season, and the Chiefs as a whole really struggle to open the field without Rashee Rice or Xavier Worthy.
Luckily, it appears they will have both of those players back soon, but it has not looked great at any point this season, really. And with two of their next three games coming against the Ravens and Lions, KC needs to turn it on sooner rather than later.
10. Los Angeles Rams (Last Week: 7)
Last Result: Lost to Eagles, 33-26
The Rams had it in the bag. They should have absolutely been the first team to beat the Eagles since December 2024. But it was a truly disastrous collapse that featured two blocked kicks and zero points scored in the final 29 minutes of the contest. It was a tale of two halves, and the Rams unfortunately could not get it done.
The Rams’ next three games may be the toughest stretch on their entire schedule, going up against the 3-0 Indianapolis Colts, the 3-0 San Francisco 49ers, and the Baltimore Ravens, in that order.
First One Out: Washington Commanders (Last Week: 10)
Last Result: Beat Raiders, 41-24
The Commanders beat the Las Vegas Raiders without starting quarterback Jayden Daniels this past Sunday. And while the team is off to a 2-1 start, it’s hard to ignore some of the question marks so far this season. There doesn’t appear to be a clear standout back, despite widespread praise for Bill Croskey-Merritt, and Terry McLaurin hasn’t stood out much either.
Still, we’re betting on the quarterback.
Dropped Out: Denver Broncos (First One Out)
Jumped In: Indianapolis Colts
